Dear All,

We would like to invite you to join us next Monday for our Meditation and Dharma talk session with Ven. Ajahn Sangthong. We are very lucky as we don’t often get to invite monks to come to IC, and we are very happy that Ajahn Santhong will be coming to IC to lead us for a Meditation session followed by a talk. Venerable Phramaha Sangthong Dhammacaro, Dhammaduta Monk and Meditation Master from the Buddhapadipa Temple. He has studied the Buddha’s teachings and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in both its theories as well as practical practices of calmness and insight meditation. Find out more about Ven. Ahahn Sangthong on this website.

Meditation and Talk by Venerable Ajahn Santhong

Ajahn Sangthong

Date: Monday 22nd Jan
Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Venue: Prayer Room – Chaplaincy (Directions)

Schedule
6:00pm – 7:00pm – Meditation & Introduction to Meditaiton
7:00pm – 7:45pm – Talk
7:45pm – 8:00pm – Q&A

Meditation is bare observation uninfluenced by opinion or expectations. It is awareness of the body and mind as they are experienced in the present moment. This may sound easy but it is actually hard to do: the mind is constantly looking for something to do, something to entertain it or sustain or defend the ego, or what we think of as the self. ~ Excerpt from Meditation Practice by Edna Lake

Please try to be on time and we understand that you might have a lecture until 5:50pm. Don’t worry if the door is close, please come in quietly even if the Meditation session has already started. We look forward to seeing you and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

With Metta,
ICBS
